India Vs Australia Live in ICC Champions Trophy 2009

Posted: 27 Sep 2009 07:49 PM PDT

India plays its second match against the Australia on Monday. India lost their 1st match in the ICC Champions Trophy against the Pakistan. They desperately need the victory in the match as Pakistan seems to be already qualified and if Aussie wins the match they will qualify too. Australia defeated West Indies in the first match. But it was not too easy for the Kangaroos against the West Indies as they thought.

Some advantage seems to be on the Ricky Ponting's but its all about Dhoni's captaincy in the other side. Both the teams have lots to do after the first match and this match is more important. India vs Australia match is yet another awaited match in the Champions Trophy.

Players to watch : Rahul Dravid, Gautam Gambhir and Ricky Ponting, Mitchell Johnson

England have opened up their Champions Trophy campaign with a win against Sri Lanka. South Africa lost to Sri Lanka but won in superb passion against New Zealand. England win against Sri Lanka and the way they tackled the top Lanakan bowlers have given them a lot of confidence. Their bowling was superb except in the middle overs.

Players to watch out:
Ab De Villers for South Africa
James Anderson for England.

SL vs NZ - Champions Trophy group B match
Date: 27th September , 2009
Match time: 09:30 local, 07:30 GMT

Its do or die situation for New Zealand who have lost one match in the Champions trophy. With England, South Africa and Sri Lanka with one win each, Kiwis should win this match to remain in the group. However, the path is not difficult for Sri Lankans who have lost a match against England despite the win against South Africa. An win will not guarantee their place in semis.

Players to watch out:
Ajantha Mendis and Dilshan for Sri Lanka.
Shane Bond and ROss Taylor for New Zealand.

After about 16 months India vs Pakistan cricket match will be held. Its the 1st match for India in the Champions trophy 2009 and second for Pakistan. The current Indian and Pakistani team seem to be equally balanced with some special features as well as some problems in both team. Pakistan has probably the best pace attack while India is with the superb batting lineup. Unlike India, Pakistan is not hit my problem with so much of injuries which is a benefit for them.

India vs Pakistan - Group A of Champions Trophy
Match date: 26th September
Match time: 6:00 PM in India, 5:30 PM in Pakistan, 14:30 local and 12:30 GMT

The pitch at Centurion is expected to be a batting pitch and we can expected a huge total made by either team. With high scores, the match will definitely be a close encounter.

India is likely to open with Gambhir and Tendular. Sachin, Dravid, Dhoni, Raina and Pathan will be in middle order. The bowling will feature Harbajan, Ishant and RP Singh. Yuvraj Singh's place can be occupied either by Virat Kohli, Avishek Nayar or Dinesh Karthik. Pakistan is definite to open with Akmal and Nazir. Younis Khan will play after missing first match due to Injury. Shahid Afridi, Misbah, Shoaib Malik are other batsmen. Umar Akmal is the new entry who can be a big threat to India. Pacemen Aamer and Gul are also in great touch.

Palyer to watch: Aamer and Umar Akmal for Pakistan and Tendulkar and Dhoni for India. More...

Australia vs West Indies - Live in ICC Champions trophy 2009

Posted: 25 Sep 2009 08:32 AM PDT

Australia will open up their Champions trophy campaign against the weak West Indies. Actually, they battled in the final of last ICC Champions Trophy but with after 3 years everything has changed. The Lara-led mighty West Indies has Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul, Taylor along with Lara compared to this current inexperienced West Indian side. Anyhow they have proved that they have some talent in the match against Pakistan.

Australia are not the no.1 ODI team. But despite the Ashes loss, they have proved that they have potential to rule the ODI cricket defeating England 6-1. Bracken is back due to injury but has a balanced pace attack with Johnson and Brett Lee. Michael Clarke too is likely to be out. West Indies has a poor batting lineup and hopes are on their bowling which created a lot of trouble for Pakistan.

Sri Lanka vs England - Highlights of ICC Champions Trophy 2009

Posted: 25 Sep 2009 06:50 AM PDT

England has won the Champions Trophy match against Sri Lanka by 6 wickets with 30 balls remaining. After a moderate Sri Lankan total English batsmen played beautifully. Morgan hit a half century. Owais Shah and Collingwood too played beautifully for their 40s. Sri Lankan spinners were not as useful in the pitch as Murali bowled 10 overs giving 60 runs.

Sri Lanka:212
England : 213 in 45 overs.

Sri Lanka propelled their total to 212 after being 17/4 at one stage. Matthews and Kandambi made fifties for them to take to this total which is considered to be a good total at this pitch. England pacers Anderson and Onions bowled beautifully against Sri Lanka and took the first 4 wickets cheaply. In a bowling pitch, the batsmen struggled against the superb bowling. Anderson was in superb touch bowled economic and took two very early wickets.

India vs Pakistan 2009 in ICC Champions Trophy - Players to watch

Posted: 25 Sep 2009 05:48 AM PDT

Just one more day for one of the most awaited match of this year. After more than 16 months India and Pakistan will be face to face on 26th September's Champions Trophy group match. Since their last encounter, a lot of changes has taken place in the team. Some new players are threat to both India and Pakistan. Players like Umar Akmal and Mohammad Ameer have emerged in Pakistani team who never played against India. I have some of the players whose role can be considered vital in the battle.

Players to watch for Pakistan: The bowling is the weapon of Pakistan and its at its best. Along with pace attack, the spin attack is at its best. Some of the players from Pakistan who can be heroes of the match are:

i) Umar Gul: Umar Gul is the leader of Pakistani pace attack. He showed superb bowling against West Indies and is currently in great touch. In about 60 matches he has 90 wickets and is quite economic. The only problem with him is that his record against India is not very good. Anyway, it was long before and seeing his current form he can be considered the biggest threat to India:

ii) Mohammad Ameer : The 17-year old paceman from Pakistan is a real emerging star. From his debut he has been in great touch. His bowling can touch the speed of 90 mph. Being a youngster, he will be opening the bowing for Pakistan which proves his ability. Only thing lacking in him is experience.

iii) Umar Akmal: Umar Akmal has emerged as a superb batsman for Pakistan. Though he is new to Pakistan cricket, he has shown superb batting against Sri Lanka and West Indies. He is an aggressive batsman and plays with lots of confidence.

Apart from these, spinner Saeed Ajmal and all-rounder Shahid Afridi are in great form.

Players to Watch from India : Unlike Pakistan India is not full of too many youngsters but the senior players are in great touch. Pace attack seems to be a bit weaker in comparison to Pakistan but batting lineup looks better. Some players to watch from India are:

i)Sachin Tendulkar : Sachin Tendulkar is always a great threat to Pakistan. He is a batsman who can play easily against the pace attack of Pakistan. He is currently in great touch. The century against Sri Lanka has shown that he can play for more years with same class and batting technique.

2) MS Dhoni : MS Dhoni too has been a great headache for Pakistan. Dhoni was recognized as a very attacking batsmen in the series against Pakistan. Either its test, ODI or T20 Dhoni has always shown great batting against Pakistan. He is now in great form as is the no.1 batsman in ODI ranking.

3)Ashish Nehra : Ashish Nehra will be leading the Indian pace attack. After a long gap, he has made a superb comeback in international cricket. He has a lot of experience of playing against Pakistan.

Apart from these, spinner Harbajan Singh is in great touch. Yuvraj Singh's absence will be a great problem for India.

So, the match between India and Pakistan on 26th September will be full of excitement and entertainment. Who do you think can win this match ? Who can be a hero of the match ?

Sri Lanka had a great start in the Champions' Trophy as they clinched down the host South Africa in the opener of Group B match. They will play the second match on Friday against the England. England is playing their first match in the Champions Trophy. The Group B match is scheduled to start from the 14:30 local at the stadium of Johannsburg.

The win will be crucial for both the teams and other two teams in the group. If Sri Lanka wins the match they seem to be desperately in the last four stage. South Africa vs New Zealand - Live in ICC Champions Trophy 2009

Posted: 23 Sep 2009 10:51 PM PDT

Its a difficult situation for the hosts South Africa who are considered as the favorites of Champions Trophy 2009. A defeat against New Zealand can make their journey to the semi-final almost impossible as they need to defeat England in the next match by huge margin. Except Dale Steyn no one seemed to be providing any trouble to Sri Lankans. In batting, they started well but their batting was shattered by spinners and fast bowlers. Seeing all these we can say there is a 50% chance for them in this match.

Match time: 09:30 local, 07:30 GMT,13:00 in India

The journey too is not so easy for New Zealand. They were in bad form in tri-series but won India in practice match which has given them some confidence. Youngsters are their power.

Watch out for:
Dale Steyn, who can be quite useful with his pace.
Shane Bond, who has made a great comeback.
