Wayne Parnell took 5 wickets for them and useful specially in the ending overs. Ross Taylor was highest runs scorer for New Zealand with 72 runs. A defeat against New Zealand can make their journey to the semi-final almost impossible as they need to defeat England in the next match by huge margin. Except Dale Steyn no one seemed to be providing any trouble to Sri Lankans. In batting, they started well but their batting was shattered by spinners and fast bowlers.
