Daniel Vettori will be leading the New Zealand team for the World Cup 2011. The team names as:

Daniel Vettori(capt), Hamish Bennett, James Franklin, Martin Guptill, Jamie How, Brendon McCullum(wk), Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Scott Styris, Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson, Luke Woodcock

New Zealand have struggled recently in the cricket field. First the team was white-washed by Bangladesh and then India. Now they lost the test series with Pakistan in New Zealand. But th captain and the team are sure that the team will certainly improve in the World Cup.

Defending champion Australian team for ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 had been announced earlier. Ricky Ponting will be captaining the side with Micheal Clarke will be the deputy. Some surprises with inclusion Nathan Hauritz in the side. Brett Lee and Shaun Tait also getting their place. The squad stands as:

Shane Watson, Brad Haddin (wk), Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, David Hussey, Cameron White, Tim Paine (wk), Steven Smith, John Hastings, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Hauritz, Brett Lee, Shaun Tait, Doug Bollinger.



Certainly there are no big names like Adam Gilchrist, Matthrew hayden and Glenn McGrath in the side but the Australian team is full of talent and it is capable of retaining the cup back.

Selecters has all trust on recovery of Michel Hussey and Captain Ricky Pinting. Whereas Xavier Doherty, Shaun Marsh and Peter Siddle could not make their presence. Victorian all-rounder John Hastings is also another surprise inclusion for the side.

Bangladesh has turned out to be a surprising nation in the cricket nowadays. Recent 4-0 victory over New Zealand in home has pumped the team more and could be as Sri Lankan team in '96 World Cup. This time, the world cup is in their homeland and certainly this will provide more more the team. The 15-man World Cup under captain Shakib-ul-hasan as:

Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Shahriar Nafees, Raqibul Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahim, Naeem Islam, Mahmudullah, Abdur Razzak, Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Nazmul Hossain, Suhrawadi Shuvo


Every eyes will be on their promising all-rounder captain Shakib-ul-Hasan. What a match winner he has turned out to be for them. But biggest shock for the team will be Musrafe Mortaza not in the 15-man squad. Fast bowling all-rounder Mortaza is suffering from Knee injury and will not be fully fit for the tournament.

The attacking opener Tamim Iqbal will vie-captain the side. The side was no much different then expected.

Sri Lankan team was announced earlier under the captaincy of Kumar Sangakkara. Lots of young legs in the side with some really experienced players. Biggest surprise will be exclusion of Sanath Jayasuriya and Chaminda Vaas from the side. The duo were named in 30-man provisional squad but failed to be in 15-man squad. The teams stands as:

Kumar Sangakkara (capt wk), Mahela Jayawardene (Vice-capt), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Silva, Chamara Kapugedera, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Rangana Herath.


Muttiah Muralitharan is only among the players in the squad who had featured in the Wrld Cup '96. The team will be expecting much more from this veteran. Murali will be supported by Mendis and Rangana Herath in the spinning department.

Te strong batting line-up comprises of captain Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Dilsan will be watchful. Teams fast bowling spare-head will be on Lasith Malinga.

Pakistan Squad for the upcoming world Cup has been announced earlier. The squad possess all the players in 16-man squad of New Zealand ODI series except Tanvir Ahmed. Still the captain's name is not given out. The squad didn't include controversial Salman Butt, Mohammed Aamer, Asif and Mallik. And also the veteran Mohammed Yusuf. The squad stands as :

Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Kamran Akmal (wk), Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq , Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Abdur Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanvir



Lots of youngsters on the side with some great experienced players. Shehzad, Safiq and Umar Akmal are the promising young batsmen for Pakistan team. Kamran Akmal has been named for the series. Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq will be watchful experienced all-rounders and match winners for Pakistan.

In the bowling department Umar Gul will lead the attack with Shoab Akhtar, Riaz and Sihail Tanvir providing more support. Abdur Rehman and Saeed Ajmal are also doing well in the spin-department.
