Players nominated for ICC awards 2011 Posted: 26 Aug 2011 10:34 PM PDT English players have dominated the list of shortlisted candidates nominated for ICC cricket awards 2011. Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott have been nominated for ICC cricketer of the year as well as ICC test player of the year awards. Talking about Indian players, Sachin Tendulkar has been nominated for cricketer of the year while Gautam Gambhir will race for ODI player of the year award. Two Pakistani and West Indies players - Azar Ali and Wahab Riaz and Devendra Bishoo and Darren Bravo have been nominated for ICC emerging player of the year award. MS Dhoni has been nominated for ICC Spirit of the year award for his famous recall of Ian Bell in test match. Key players like Sehwag, Zaheer and Ishant Sharma will miss the match as well as rest of the tour. The only good news for Indian fans is that India won the tour match against Kent. Virat Kohli seems to be in a good touch. Match details: Only T20I: England v India at Manchester Date: August 31, 2011 Time: 18:00 local | 17:00 GMT | 22:30 IST India would like to forget the test matches and start T20/ODI series in a new way. They have recently on the ODI world cup and the players are considered to be more suited for the one-day format. But England are also the T20 world champions. So, we can expect a high competition.
