It was all the way Lasith Malinga in the opener for Mumbai but the difference was this time with his bat, probably for the irst time in his career. Harbhajan and Malinga got 53 runs partnership in 4.3 overs to overcome Chennai in their home. Malinga made 37 off 18 with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

The two Indian rivals met at Chennai for their first match in Champions League 2011. The match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings started with the home side winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Credits goes to Mike Hussey for his brilliant 81 from 57 balls for posting a moderately better score of 158/4. malinga as usual was the threat in Mumbai's bowling attack and also became threat for Chennai when batting also.

Talking about the reply, starting well with 40/0, Mumbai top and middle order collapsed with no Sachin Tendulkar. Somehow Pollard tried a bit but was out after scoring 22 runs. Then came the Slinga!! Malinga to join Harbhajan Singh
