Highlights of India vs England 3rd ODI 2011 at Mohali [video]

Batting has worked for England for the first time in the series as they score 298/4 in 50 overs. It was Johnathan Trott who guided the inning with his not out 98 missing a hundred. Samit Patel too played an excellent inning providing the late momentum as he scored 70 of just 43 balls. Indian bowlers unlike other matches seemed ineffective especially towards the end of the match.

England won the toss and chose to bat. They lost Alaister Cook early scoring just 3 runs. Kieswetter managed to score a quickfire 36. Then the important partnership of Trott and Pietersen came. They made 101 runs partnership and guided England to a big score. After departure of Pietersen for 64, Bopara made 24. Then came the most important partnership of inning between Trott and Patel. The partnership worth 103 of 71 balls was pushed England to a big score.

Australia has won the rain-affected first ODI at Centurion against the home team South Africa by 93 runs. After a fifty by Ponting who opened the inning and handy contributions from Clare and Hussey, Aussies made 183 for 4 in 29 overs. The home team required 223 to win in 29 overs using the D/L method. South Africa got all out in 123 in 22 overs. Cummins and Bollingers took 3 wickets each and there was handy contributions from other bowlers as well.

With comprehensive wins in the first two ODI's, India have proved that it is really difficult to beat them at home. Batting has been brilliant in both matches. Talking about the bowling, spinners were superb in 1st ODI while pacers won the match for them in 2nd ODI. England on the other hand seemed behind India in both batting and bowling. A win in the 3rd ODI means, series win for India. So, its a do or die situation for England.
