Finally England had something to cheer-up before leaving India with the T20 win. The T20 champions and no.1 in rankings, England defeated India by 6 wickets with 8 balls remaining. Winning the toss, India batted first and started tumbling from the start ending 120/9 in 20 overs. India lost their wickets at the regular interval. Raina tried to rescue the team with two sixes and four 4s making 39 runs. Finn picked 3 wickets, Bopara and Bresnan bagged two each and one wicket for Samit Patel.

In reply, England got easily to the home as their premium batsman KP Pietersen scored 53 runs. Pietersen was chosen the man of the match. After the win England managed their top spot in the ICC T20 ranking.

India : 120/9 in 20 overs
England : 121/4 in 18.4 overs
