Sri Lanka vs Australia 1st Final Post Match Presentation Tri-Series Brisbane 2012

Posted: 04 Mar 2012 04:03 AM PST

Warner: It was great to get a century. I thought Wade played really well early on and so did Watson. Clarke and Mike provided the finishing touches in the end. I had severe cramps towards the end and I spoke with the physio at the end of the innings. He has told me to have more fluids to overcome the cramps. I am happy that we are 1-0 up and we will look to seal the series at Adelaide. Looking forward to the next match.

Warner is the MoM for his 163

Clarke: Nice to win, but it was tough. We need to work on that in the nets. Our players are executing their skills well and we need to do more of the same in Adelaide. The pitch will be slower and lower and we need to do well. It is great to have Watto back, he provides a lot for the team. The wicket at Adelaide will suit them more than us and we need to be at our best.

Mahela Jayawardene: We have been playing some good cricket. We made some mistakes, but fought till the end. That is what we would like to see in this team. A lot of positives, Upul and Kula batted beautifully and so did Dhammika. We felt if Upul and Prasad stayed for some more time we could pull it off. Upul’s dismissal was the key, it would have been great had we got a couple of more batsmen towards the end. The Aussie openers took the momentum away from us and we need to check it in Adelaide. Hopefully, we will have a couple of good days out there.

Toss: Australia have won the toss and elected to bat

Michael Clarke: There will be some swing throughout the day due to the overcast conditions. Peter Forrest is not in the team today and Clint McKay misses out. Lee comes back. Warner and Wade are a solid opening combination. Watson will be at No.3 and I will be at No.4. We have to be at our best today.

Mahela: I would have batted first. We hope to restrict them to a moderate total. We have to start all over again and get the basics right. Maharoof is back in the squad. Mathews has not recovered from his injury and Dhammika Prasad is in the team today.

Pitch Report: There is a hint of grass on this wicket. The sun is out and it is a hard pitch. Wasim Akram reckons that the team winning the toss should bat first. There will be some help for the pace bowlers.
