Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Squad IPL 2012 Posted: 28 Mar 2012 07:30 AM PDT Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is a Kolkata based franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), co-owned by Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment in partnership with actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta. The team is currently captained by India batting star Gautam Gambhir. As per the recent study done by a UK based brand valuation company, KKR are ranked as the second most valuable franchise brand in the cash-rich league. The official theme of the team is Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo Re and the official colors are purple and gold. The home of the team is Eden Gardens, the largest and most iconic cricket stadium in India. In 2012, KKR added Brendon McCullum, Sunil Narine and Marchant de Lange to their already strong side which includes Brett Lee, Jacques Kallis, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hasan and Ryan ten Doeschate. Michael Clarke signs up with Pune Warriors for IPL 2012 Posted: 28 Mar 2012 05:24 AM PDT Pune Warriors have succeeded in signing the Australian captain Michael Clarke ahead of the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League season. The Pune Warriors tweeted confirming the news, “Michael Clarke has been signed by Pune Warriors India. Welcome to the Pune Warriors family” Clarke will be playing the popular league for the first time as he always shunned away from the league in the past to pay full attention to national duty. Earlier, the Pune franchise suffered a blow as all-rounder James Hopes was ruled out of the 2012 season due to a knee injury. I thought 160-170 would have been a par score. It was a beautiful wicket and the boundaries were short too. The ball was reversing a bit, one of Pollard’s sixes hit the roof and it bruised one side of the ball, which helped it reverse a bit more, so thanks to the big man. Hope to continue the good work in the next game. Watson is the Man of the Match for his half century Sammy: We wanted 170+ but Australia bowled well and outplayed us. We have to improve on our strike rotation, we have been trying and hopefully we’ll do better in Barbados. Maybe we could look into the batting order. We should try and come up with the right combination for the next game.
