Misbah: The conditions were difficult for batting today, but Hafeez played really well and I am happy to register a win. This is a tricky wicket and it’s tough to make a decision whether to bat first or bowl first. In the end it was a good toss to lose. As always our bowlers are really bowling well at the moment and that has helped us. We would like to improve on our fielding as we were bad on the field today.

Mahela: We didn’t put up a decent total. 190-200 would have been a challenging total. Pak bowlers bowled well initially and we didn’t bat well. The rain delays also didn’t help our cause today. We are repeating the same mistakes we did in Australia and we would like to play better cricket in the next match.

Umar Gul is the Man of the Match: First of all I would like to thank the almighty. I am happy with my performance today. This is a lucky ground for me as I took 5 wickets in the World Cup also. Our fielding was bad today and we would like to improve on that.

Billy Doctrove announced his retirement from umpiring

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that umpire Billy Doctrove has announced his retirement from umpiring. The announcement was made public on the governing body's twitter account.

"ICC today confirmed that Emirates Elite Panel umpire Billy Doctrove has announced his retirement from umpiring,"the official twitter account of ICC tweeted on Thursday.

Doctrove has stood in 38 Tests and 112 One Day Internationals (ODIs) since his debut in 1998. He was also a FIFA referee and had officiated in a World Cup Qualifier game in 1996.

The West Indian was Daryl Hair's partner during the controversial Oval Test between England and Pakistan in 2006. Interestingly, it was his first year in Elite Panel.

Hailing from Dominica, Doctrove has a pavillion named after him in his country's only Test ground, Windsor Park.
