England vs New Zealand 1st T20 Live Streams Online 2013

England and New Zealand will start the seven long weeks series with the first of the three match twenty20 series here at Auckland. New Zealand recently came from South Africa tour where they lost the test series but finished the tour on high by winning ODI series 2-1. On the other hand, England are coming from ODI series in India which they lost 3-2. Both teams will be looking for a fresh start. New Zealand being a home side will look to exploit the conditions. Ross Taylor will return to the side after a self taken break following his sacking as New Zealand skipper. His return will also impose a pressure on him as all will be expecting him to play a crucial role in the series. Another man New Zealand will be looking for will the skipper Brendon McCullum. He hasn’t been on top of the forms recently. For England, Jos Butler has been impressive in the warm-up games. Eoin Morgan form is a point fo worry for them. James Tredwell and Samit Patel will most probably handle the spin department which leave Joe Root out of the playing Xi. In the past six encounters England have won 5 games against New Zealand loosing just one. New Zealand have been competitive in this format and we can’t just ignore there potentials.

England vs New Zealand series will be available to watch free online on Sky Sports HD. We will be posting the links to watch the matches online so just bookmark the page to stay updated with live streams links for the series.

Michael Clarke ruled of final ODI against West Indies #AusvWI

Posted: 08 Feb 2013 08:19 AM PST

Michael Clarke ruled of final ODI against West IndiesAustralia captain Michael Clarke has been ruled out of the fifth and final one-day international (ODI) against the West Indies in Melbourne on Sunday after complaining of a recurrence of the hamstring trouble that he has carried through the Australian summer.

Clarke’s right hamstring was assessed by the team medical staff following the fourth ODI on Friday, which the home team won, and the physiotherapist has confirmed that Clarke has hamstring stiffness.

While there is no cause for alarm, the 31-year-old will not travel to Melbourne for the fifth ODI as a precaution. He will leave for Chennai for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy February 12, as planned.

Shane Watson will captain Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground while Shaun Marsh has been added to the squad and will travel to Melbourne on Saturday ahead of the match.

Australia currently lead the five-match series 4-0.

Preview England vs New Zealand 1st T20 Auckland 2013It will be battle for one-upmanship between hosts New Zealand and England as a lengthy series gets underway with the first of three Twenty20 internationals at Auckland’s Eden Park on Saturday. With three matches in each format lined up over the next seven weeks, getting familiar with the opposition’s strengths and weakness should be a focal point for both teams starting February 9.

New Zealand go into the series after a gap from the tough tour of South Africa, which ended with a 2-1 ODI series success; England have regroup after a 3-2 ODI defeat to India. New Zealand have welcomed back Ross Taylor after a self-imposed break following his removal as Test captain. England will be buoyed by the return of Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad after an injury that has ruled him out of international duty since November. Both sides will be reliant on their experienced players in a Twenty20 series with plenty of fresh faces on both sides, so getting Taylor and Broad firing will be key.

Taylor and Brendon McCullum remain the two biggest players for New Zealand whose batting has been average of late, with Kane Williamson the most consistent. With injuries to Grant Elliott and Ian Buttler, the Otago allrounder Jimmy Neesham was a late call-up to the squad and should slot into the XI. Neesham’s Otago team-mate, the uncapped 23-year-old batsman Hamish Rutherford, could get a debut at the top with Rob Nicol axed.

Ross Taylor, back in the side after a self-imposed break, and returning T20 captain Stuart Broad are key for New Zealand and England respectively in the series starting Saturday.

England’s XI should resemble that which featured in the three warm-up Twenty20 matches. Jos Buttler has been the most impressive batsmen on tour with two fifties in as many innings, while Eoin Morgan’s form will be heartening for the tourists. More will be expected of opener Alex Hales, however, who has made six runs in two innings so far. Joe Root looks likely to miss out, with the spin duties to be shared by James Tredwell and Samit Patel.

England have won five of the past six Twenty20 internationals played against New Zealand. The hosts are a dangerous team in the format, though, so it does not look like being a one-sided series.

Probable XIs
New Zealand: 1 Martin Guptill, 2 Hamish Rutherford, 3 Brendon McCullum (capt/wk), 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Colin Munro, 6 James Franklin, 7 Jimmy Neesham, 8 Nathan McCullum, 9 Mitchell McClenaghan, 10 Andrew Ellis, 11 Ronnie Hira

England: 1 Michael Lumb, 2 Alex Hales, 3 Luke Wright, 4 Jonny Bairstow, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Jos Buttler (wk), 7 Samit Patel, 8 Stuart Broad (capt), 9 James Tredwell, 10 Steven Finn, 11 Jade Dernbach

Australia beat West Indies by 5-wickets in 4th ODI despite Pollard ton #AusvWI

Posted: 08 Feb 2013 04:22 AM PST

Australia beat West Indies by 5-wickets in 4th ODI despite Pollard tonAustralia maintained their dominance over the West Indies cruising to a five-wicket victory to lead their one-day international series 4-0 at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.

Only a belligerent unbeaten century from man-of-the-match Kieron Pollard gave the West Indies a respectable score of 220 after they were 55 for six at one stage.

But it was easily run down by the Australians, who secured victory with 31 balls to spare and will now go after a series clean sweep in Melbourne on Sunday.

If not for Pollard’s 109 off 136 balls it would have been an even more emphatic victory for Michael Clarke’s team who always had control of the run chase under lights.

Shane Watson followed up his 122 in Wednesday’s 39-run series-clinching win in Canberra with 76 off 84 balls and skipper Clarke hit 37 off 65 balls before he was out gloving down the leg-side to express bowler Tino Best with the scores level.

Glen Maxwell came in and hit the winning run with Matthew Wade not out 13.

Yet despite Australia’s dominance the towering Pollard was named man-of-the-match for preventing his team’s innings from falling apart after it had tottered at 55 for six before a series of late partnerships gave his side something to defend.

It was Pollard’s third ODI century and his second against Australia and he had to curb his usual aggressive batting style as the West Indies threatened to repeat their total of 70 in the first ODI of the series in Perth.

Mitchell Johnson ripped into the West Indies top order removing Johnson Charles (0) Kieran Powell (9) and Darren Bravo (4) to have the tourists wobbling at 17 for three.

Bravo’s brother, Dwayne, lasted eight balls for his three before he was given out leg before wicket to Maxwell on review.

Narsingh Deonarine, in for injured Chris Gayle, got a thick edge off Ben Cutting to Aaron Finch at second slip for 10. Wicketkeeper Devon Thomas went for seven after a long review concluded that the ball carried to Finch at slip for Cutting’s second wicket.

Andre Russell put on 35 runs with Pollard for the eighth wicket before he holed out to Maxwell at long-off off James Faulkner for 18 off 17 balls.

Sunil Narine joined in the best partnership of the innings of 64 before he was caught behind off Clint McKay for 23.

Best was run out for one in a mix-up with Pollard in the final over.

Johnson finished with three for 36 off his 10 overs and Cutting captured three for 45 off 10.

Finch made 25 before he was dismissed in the 10th over of the Australian innings leg before wicket to spinner Narine.

Watson and Phillip Hughes put on 62 for the second wicket before Hughes was caught at slip off the back of his glove for 23 as he tried to lap sweep Narine.

Watson had a bit of luck along the way when he was dropped on 32 by wicketkeeper Devon Thomas and Narine botched a run out with the Australian opener well out of his ground when on 51.

He was finally out when he could not get out of the way of a rearing Best delivery and was caught behind.

Adam Voges, in the team for injured George Bailey, made 28 off 39 balls before he holed out to Darren Sammy off Russell and Clarke was the last man out with the scores tied.

Best finished with two for 38 and Narine two for 34.

Sachin Tendulkar equals Sunil Gavaskar’s record of first-class hundreds

Posted: 08 Feb 2013 04:00 AM PST

Sachin Tendulkar equals Sunil Gavaskar's record of first-class hundredsSenior India batsman Sachin Tendulkar on Friday equalled Sunil Gavaskar’s record number of first class hundreds by cracking a superb century against Rest of India on day three of the Irani Cup.

Coming into the match one short of fellow Mumbaikar Gavaskar in the Indian record list of 81 first class hundreds, Tendulkar struck his 30th ton in his other first class cricket matches and 18th for his home state Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium.

Gavaskar had notched up 81 first class hundreds between 1971 and 1997, including 34 in 125 Tests for India.

In the course of his superb tuning up innings for the upcoming four-Test series against Australia, the 39-year-old Tendulkar also crossed another milestone — 25,000 runs in first class cricket.

Tendulkar, who has 51 Test hundreds in 194 games, needed 104 when he went out to bat in his 479th innings in first class cricket for reaching the second landmark.

Coming in at three down, one place below his normal batting order as night watchman Shardul Thakur was sent in ahead of him late Thursday, Tendulkar played some breathtaking shots, especially in the arc between long off and cover, to bring up his new landmark in his 303rd first class game.

He completed the 100 with a single off S Sreesanth who tried to unsettle him with short-pitched balls. Tendulkar took 139 balls and 228 minutes to bring up his hundred, which was enshrined with 12 fours and two sixes — one each off left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, the second one also bringing his half century.

Tendulkar’s maiden first class hundred had also come at the same ground against Gujarat in December, 1988.

In international cricket, the iconic batsman has 100 hundreds, including 49 in ODIs, a format from which he retired before the home series against Pakistan recently.

Break-up of 100s of Gavaskar and Tendulkar in first class cricket:

Gavaskar: 34 in Tests, 20 in Ranji Trophy, 3 in Irani Cup, 6 in Duleep Trophy, 1 for Rest of the World against England (his last first class game), 2 in county cricket for Somerset and 15 in other games including a century against Sri Lanka in 1974-75 in unofficial Test.

Tendulkar: 51 in Tests, 18 in Ranji Trophy, 2 in Irani Cup, 3 in Duleep Trophy, 1 in county cricket for Yorkshire and 6 in other games.

Women’s World Cup 2013 : New Zealand crush Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in super six #wwc13

Women's World Cup 2013 - New Zealand crush Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in super sixNew Zealand rode on their bowlers lethal performance to crush Sri Lanka by eight wickets in their first Super Six match of the ICC Women’s World Cup at Mumbai on Friday.

Opting to bowl after winning the toss, New Zealand pace duo of Lea Tahuhu (4 for 27) and Sian Ruck (3 for 16) wrecked havoc as Sri Lanka lost wickets at regular intervals to get bundled out for a paltry 103 in 42 overs.

Tahuhu and Ruck were well supported by off-spinner Frances Mackay (2 for 18), who snared two Sri Lankan wickets. New Zealand then chased down the modest target without much ado, scoring 108 for two in 23 overs.

Mackay (34 not out) and captain Suzie Bates (37) ensured a smooth start to New Zealand’s chase, stitching 71 runs for the opening stand before they lost two wickets in the 16th over.

Left-arm spinner Inoka Ranaweera (2 for 27) was the beneficiary on both occasions. She first dismissed Bates, who edged one to wicket-keeper Dilani Surangika and then three balls later sent packing Amy Satterthwaite for a duck.

But that was all the Lankans could manage, as Mackay and Sophie Devine (29 not out) then joined hands to take the Kiwis past the victory line without any further damage.

Earlier sent into bat, Sri Lanka found the going tough right from the word go and lost their first four wickets with just 23 runs on the board.

Surangika (34), Deepika Rasangika (20), Sandamali Dolawatte (19) and Sripali Weerakkody (11) managed double digit scores and showed some intent with the bat for the Lankans, but it was not enough to ensure a respectable total.

Brief Scores: Sri Lanka: 103 all out in 42 overs (Dilani Surangika 34; Lea Tahuhu 4 for 27) lost to New Zealand: 108 for two in 23 overs (Frances Mackay 39*, Suzie Bates 37; Inoka Ranaweera 2 for 27) by 8 wickets.

Sachin Tendulkar completes 25000 runs in first class cricket

Posted: 08 Feb 2013 03:01 AM PST

Sachin Tendulkar completes 25000 runs in first class cricketIndian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar completed 25,000 runs in First-Class cricket while playing for Mumbai against Rest of India in the Irani Trophy match on Friday. He was unbeaten on 105 when he went past the landmark. He has taken 303 matches to achieve this feat.

Earlier, Tendulkar completed his century against Rest of India and equalled Sunil Gavaskar on the number of first class centuries on Day Three of the Irani Trophy at Mumbai.

This is his 81st first-class century. He brought it up with a single off S Sreesanth. His knock included 12 boundaries and two sixes.

In reply to Rest of India's total of 526, Mumbai had a steady start provided by Wasim Jaffer and Ajinkya Rahane but since their departure, Tendulkar has steadied the ship.

This knock will give the man a lot of confidence ahead of a tough series against Australia, starting from February 22.

After retiring from limited-over format of the game, Tendulkar has done well for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and has carried his form into the Irani Cup.

With this ton, he will hope to take the momentum into the four-match Test series against Australia.

“Brad Haddin and Clint McKay are experienced campaigners and Josh Hazlewood is one of our very promising young pace bowlers who has recently regained full fitness.”
