Kolkata Knight Riders vs Chennai Super Kings Post Match Presentation IPL 2013 #CSK #KKR #KKRvsCSK Posted: 20 Apr 2013 07:56 AM PDT Ravindra Jadeja: ‘It was a good game for us. It was a crucial game for us. I was just trying to see the ball and hit it, as there was no time to think at that time. Wicket was pretty slow – it was good for spinners and the ball wasn’t coming on to the bat. I tried to bowl slow in the air and it helped. I played 3 good shots for my team and I was just backing myself. I like ‘baappu’ more than ‘Sir’. But I’m enjoying the ‘Sir’ tag – it’s a good time-pass for our team. (laughs) Sir is the Man of the Match. Don’t ask me who he is… Dhoni: ‘We didn’t really bat well. We’ll have to be more consistent in this area. Our bowlers did a good job and our fielding was good. The run outs brought us back in the game. Delaying the spinners helped us as it wasn’t easy to rotate strike in the middle overs. That’s an area where we have to plan as batsmen (on whom to attack). You have to take risks accordingly and plan. Maybe that involves a bit of risk but the successful batsmen are just of 2 types – the ones who don’t think anything and the ones who plan. Ravindra Jadeja is ‘Sir’, we all know that! (Laughs). He’s doing well, not only here but also in the Indian team. We want him to be comfortable in the dressing room. He’s enjoying the fact that we’re calling him ‘Sir’. But he thinks it’s the ‘Sir’ in English but it’s actually the Sir in Hindi (meaning head).’ Gambhir: ‘There was some school boy errors. When you win the toss and when you’re 46/1, you have to get more than 119. The pitch gets better under lights. We saw that in the last game as well. A lot of credit to the bowlers for restricting Chennai as much as they could. We had to put pressure on the batsmen, there is no point taking the game till the last over, so we had to bowl Sunil and Senanayake as early as we could. Our batting line up has to pull up our socks. It’s high time we get better with the bat’

Royal Challengers Bangalore wins toss, opts to field vs Rajasthan Royals – IPL 2013 #RR #RCB Posted: 20 Apr 2013 07:30 AM PDT Toss: Bangalore have won the toss and elected to field Kohli: ‘Do not ask me about my health. If we have too many close games, I will not be in good shape. First day, we did not see each other. On the second day, we had a practice session and we noted down some few points. When we get three days off, one does not know what to do but it was a welcome rest. The dew will play a big factor in the second innings and that is why we will bowl. RP Singh replaces Rahul, Dilshan replaces Andrew McDonald, Syed Mohammad is not in the team. It is pretty hard to defend in Bangalore and we will look to stifle the Rajasthan batsmen.’ Dravid: ‘I am thrilled with the start that Rajasthan have made. It is a little weird walking into the opposition room. I have played at this ground since I was a kid and I love the support of the fans. We had a fantastic time here last year. We have good depth in the team and we have covered up for injuries. We have got the right composition for any surface. We do not focus on the kind of tags the people give us but we are only focusing on performances. It looks like a good wicket and we would have bowled first. Shaun Tait replaces Kevon Cooper while Sreesanth replaces Ankeet Chavan. We have to know the basics well.’ Teams: Rajasthan (Playing XI): Shane Watson, Ajinkya Rahane, Rahul Dravid(c), Brad Hodge, Stuart Binny, Dishant Yagnik(w), James Faulkner, Ajit Chandila, Siddharth Trivedi, Shaun Tait, S Sreesanth
Kolkata Knight Riders wins toss, opts to bat vs Chennai Super Kings – IPL 2013 #CSK #KKR #KKRvsCSK Posted: 20 Apr 2013 03:04 AM PDT Toss: Kolkata have won the toss and elected to bat Gambhir: ‘We’ve played 2 games here and we’ve won both so hope to win one more. I still feel we haven’t been playing smart cricket, we have to be consistent. When you’re in good form you have to carry on and take the team through. We’ve discussed that as a team. We don’t want to get into a situation where we’re desperate. It’s a beautiful track – a lot of people think it’s a turning track but according to me it’s a good track for batting. The weather has been like this for the last couple of days. We have 2 quality spinners in the side, we hope to put runs on board and put pressure with 2 spinners.’ Dhoni: ‘I’m quite bad with stats, but one thing I remember is that whenever we play here, the weather is always like this! Nannes is still unfit. We played well last game so we are unchanged. We would have batted first as well. It’s important to improve and we have improved with every game. Overall it’s a good sign for us. Nannes’ injury was a blessing in disguise because picking the foreigners is a tough job – we have a lot of quality foreign players!’ Teams Kolkata (Playing XI): Gautam Gambhir(c), Jacques Kallis, Manoj Tiwary, Eoin Morgan, Yusuf Pathan, Debabrata Das(w), Laxmi Shukla, Rajat Bhatia, Sunil Narine, Sachithra Senanayake, Lakshmipathy Balaji |
