4th ODI Live Streams India vs England Mohali 2013

India winning the last ODi at Ranchi gave them 2-1 lead in the series and now they will look to wrap up series with a win at Mohali. England haven’t won an ODI series in India since 2001 and they will be under immense pressure. Fourth ODI at Mohali is a do-or-die for England. India have played superbly in the last two ODis and their bowling unit has been performing well. Shami Ahmed and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bee very impressive and are able to hold back England batsman from scoring runs. Another positive came from last game was Virat Kohli coming back in form to score runs. This is huge plus for team India whose batting has been a concern from the recent series. Ravindra Jadeja too has been very impressive with ball. He has been picking wickets for India at important stage and that has really given India a huge edge.

England batting has been a major downfall for the team. They scored just 155 runs in last ODI which by no chance is a competitive total. Alastair Cook and Ian Bell did started off the innings but middle order has been the main problem. Both Samit Patel and Craig Kieswetter were out for duck providing no strength in the middle order. With Patel not making an impact with the ball either, the slow left-armer Danny Briggs could get his second ODI cap in Mohali. Kieswetter should hold his place considering he is a specialist wicketkeeper, though Jos Buttler can easily step in as designated glovesman.

Preview : India vs England, 4th ODI, Mohali, 2013 #IndvsEng

Preview India vs England, 4th ODI, Mohali, 2013Bolstered by two emphatic back-to-back wins, India will seek to clinch the ODI series against England by taking an unassailable 3-1 lead in the fourth match on Wednesday with the under-fire hosts showing signs of rediscovering their winning touch.

After a series of indifferent performances in the recent past, the team is beginning to prove its worth with two comprehensive victories and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be hoping that his young teammates can maintain the tempo for a third successive win in the five-match series.

India’s young and inexperienced bowlers excelled in the last two matches and were largely responsible for setting up the victories while some of the top-order batsmen, who have been woefully out of form, have showed signs of recovery.

Clearly, the pressure will be on the visitors who have to come up with a far more inspired show to prevent the Indians from winning the series in what promises to be a thrilling contest at the PCA Stadium.

Despite the two big wins, there are still some areas of concern for the Indians who have not being able to fix their opening problems.

Though Gautam Gambhir has been getting the starts and going into the 30s, he has not been able to translate them into a big knock. The other opener Ajinkya Rahane has not been in good touch and has got out cheaply. As a result, India have never really got a flying start in the series.

India have the option of trying out Cheteshwar Pujara, who has still not played a single match, in place of Rahane but that looks extremely unlikely as the young opener will be given a longer rope to regain his form.

The Indian team management may not want to tinker with a winning combination and may go in with the same team that has won the last two games with resounding margins.

The young Ravindra Jadeja has been a revelation in the last two games and and it his brilliant display with the ball and bat which has made all the difference.

The Indians desperately needed an all-rounder to provide the much-needed balance to the side and Jadeja has filled in that slot admirably. But the young Saurashtra all-rounder will have to maintain his performance and not fizzle out like many others.

Captain Dhoni, understandably, is quite happy that Jadeja has found his mojo as the field restrictions under the new ODI rules have made it difficult for part-timers like Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina to bowl too many overs.

“He (Jadeja) is definitely someone who is giving us that balance. In that way, Jadeja is the perfect person to have. We have been struggling with the bowling all-rounder. Irfan (Pathan) is the only one that we have got,” Dhoni had said.

“Before the new rules, we used to rely on Yuvraj Singh and other part timers to get over with the 10 overs. With the new rule, Yuvi will need a bit more time to settle down as a bowler,” he said.

Virat Kohli’s return to form augurs well for the Indians who have been badly let down by the constant failures of the middle order batsmen in recent tournaments.

Kohli smashed an unbeaten 77 in the last game in Ranchi and will feel a lot more confident and relaxed when he takes guard at the Mohali track which is expected to offer something for the quick bowlers, particularly when the ball is new.

Yuvraj has looked in fine nick in the brief cameos that he has played but will be looking for a big knock while captain Dhoni, who has been in red hot form right through the series, will hope to carry on.

In the bowling department, paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shami Ahmed have been impressive but Ishant Sharma has proved to be quite inconsistent and expensive. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had a good outing in Ranchi.

Captain Alastair Cook has not tormented the Indians as he did in the Test series while dangerman Kevin Pietersen has also not fired though he was trifle unlucky as he fell victim to a dubious decision in Ranchi.

England’s batsmen have struggled to counter the Indian spinners. Kumar and Ahmed have managed to make early inroads from which the Englishmen have not been able to recover in the last two matches.

But Cook reckons his team has enough quality to fightback and restore balance in the series.

“We’ve got some quality players in our dressing room who can, on their day, win games for England and if we want to win we need to stand up as batsmen and deliver,” Cook said.

“We must go into the match with a clear mind and not look for magic answers because we haven’t scored runs for a couple of games. We’ve got to be clear and start producing the goods out in the middle and not just talk about it,” he said.

Teams:

India (Probable): Ajinkya Rahane, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Shami Ahmed, Bhuvneshwar Kumar runs in

England (Probable): Alastair Cook (c), Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, Craig Kieswetter (wk), Samit Patel, James Tredwell, Steven Finn, Jade Dernbach, Tim Bresnan.

Virat Kohli apologizes to BCCI for violating rule #IndvsEng

Posted: 22 Jan 2013 12:57 AM PST

Virat Kohli apologizes to BCCI for violating ruleIndian middle order batsman Virat Kohli has tendered his apology to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for violating the rule of not to interact with the media during a series, according to reports.

According to the BCCI guidelines, the Indian cricketers are not allowed to speak to media apart from press conferences during a series.

Kohli had given an exclusive interview at length to The Telegraph newspaper after England's routing by seven wickets in the third ODI at Ranchi on January 19.

It is believed that an Indian cricket official has sent an email to a member of the support staff, asking how Kohli spoke to the media between a series. The support staff member replied with a promise to reiterate the Indian players about the guidelines.

According to Mid DAY, Kohli said in his reply to the BCCI that he didn't realise that he was not supposed to speak to the media during a series, stressing that it won't be repeated.

In his interview to The Telegraph, Kohli spoke about leading India in the future.

"Coming from Mr Gavaskar, it did feel good… That one comment (after the final Test against England) lifted my confidence… Made me more aware of my responsibilities as well." Speaking of Dhoni's captaincy, Kohli said: "I'd love to have MS' calmness and composure… I've never seen him stressed… He's been so composed even in the most difficult of situations. While remaining an aggressive cricketer, I'd still like to have his calmness. It's reassuring,” Kohli said.

Michael Clarke doubtful for 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka

Posted: 21 Jan 2013 11:00 PM PST

Michael Clarke doubtful for 3rd ODI against Sri LankaAustralian captain Michael Clarke is a serious doubt for Wednesday’s final one-day international against Sri Lanka after twisting his ankle.

He was undergoing treatment and an assessment of his fitness would be made later Tuesday, Cricket Australia said.

Sri Lanka lead the five-match series 2-1 after the fourth leg was washed out on Sunday.

The tourists were chasing 223 runs to take the series after thrashing Australia in the second and third games. They needed 209 more runs off 46.4 overs with all their wickets intact when the umpires took the players off the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Australia scored 222 for nine off their 50 overs after winning the toss.

Anil Kumble joins Mumbai Indians as chief mentor #IPL

Posted: 21 Jan 2013 10:12 PM PST

Anil Kumble joins Mumbai Indians as chief mentorFormer India captain Anil Kumble was on Monday appointed chief mentor of the Mumbai Indians IPL team ahead of the start of the sixth season.

The 42-year-old Kumble not only holds the record of being the highest Indian wicket-taker in both Tests as well as ODIs but is also considered a highly respected sportsman the world over for his enormous experience and cricketing intelligence.

Commenting on his appointment, Kumble said, “In my discussion with Reliance Group Management, I find that they have a great and compelling vision for sports in this country, which aligns with my venture Tenvic Sports’ aspirations in making ‘sports’ as the main catalyst of youth development.”

“Mumbai Indians is a very competitive team in the IPL with high-profile players and committed owners. It’s my honour to join the Mumbai Indians as Chief Mentor and to align our joint interest in making sports as an important agenda in youth development. I look forward to the new assignment,” he said in a statement.

Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani said, “In Anil Kumble, we have a new Chief Mentor who has extensive cricketing knowledge not only as a player of international stature but also as an able administrator. He is one of India’s leading sporting icons and we have great pleasure in having him on board.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore, where Kumble was holding the same post prior to joining MI, issued a statement regarding this.

“Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and its Chief Mentor Anil Kumble have agreed to a separation with immediate effect. The parties have taken this consensual decision after considering various aspects. The parties have reaffirmed their mutual goodwill and have expressed satisfaction over the process of separation.” the RCB said in a statement.

Kumble further stated, “I have had an enjoyable association with RCB, as player, captain and mentor. During this period we have achieved most of our objectives and RCB has emerged as one of the leading franchises in the IPL.

“I leave with happy memories. I am thankful to Dr. Vijay Mallya for offering me the role of Chief Mentor, a position that allowed me to observe the challenges of being a franchise owner from close quarters and develop a nuanced perspective of the commercial elements of sport.

Mallya said, “Anil has been a great asset to RCB as captain, chief mentor and advisor. He has helped shape the entire team and was instrumental in creating a unique sense of passion and commitment.
